This is a lovely Vintage 1940's GRISWOLD #6 Cast Iron Skillet featuring their underside "Grooved Handle" style in Excellent Condition. The skillet is clearly marked on the underside "NO. 6, GRISWOLD (inside their Double Circle and Cross Logo), ERIE PA. 699 Y". There is a large dash next to the "Y". The skillet measures 9" across the rim, 9-3/4" across its two pouring spouts and is 2" deep. The skillet is "spotless" clean, seasoned and in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, pitting, rust or warping and sits perfectly flat on the stove or in the oven with no wobble whatsoever. The cooking surface itself is 100% perfectly level and it and the entire inside are very smooth showing only the very lightest of utensil marks from use and a tiny casting pit to one side which doesn't affect cooking in any way. This is truly a lovely Vintage 1940's GRISWOLD #6 Cast Iron Skillet featuring their popular underside "Grooved Handle" style. The skillet is in excellent condition, ready for use and makes a striking display from the premier manufacturer of Early American Cast Iron Cookware, GRISWOLD.
