# 8 “ERIE” (GRISWOLD) CAST IRON SKILLET P/N 704G Picture(s) and Description:

Here is a really fine # 8 ERIE skillet over 100 years old, in excellent condition and made sometime between 1870 and 1900. It measures 10" in diameter and is 2" deep. The weight is 3 pounds 8 ounces. This skillet does not have any of the casting flaws found in many of the real old pans. The inside, while showing a few faint utensil marks, is just as smooth as any made fifty years later. The pictures show just how clean this piece is. The bottom has a heat ring which shows very little wear. All printing, as you can see, is very distinct even though they did not make it all that deep in the late 1800's. Note the old style numbers and letters. I see no cracks, pitting, rust, chips or any damage. It sits steady on a flat surface. This is one of the best ERIE skillets that I have seen in sometime. There is a low starting bid along with a reserve that is below book value. Please email us should you have any questions. Be sure to check out our other Griswold items that we have listed.
